Our new Supersid Space Weather Monitor moved from inside to outside last week, as all systems seemed to be performing well.

The antenna arms are 2m long with at least 20 rounds of insulated wire creating a loop antenna system aimed due east.
It’s primary target is the NAA VLF radio transmitter at Cutler Maine.
As seen in the google map below, it is almost directly due east from our location.

The receiver and data logging computer were initially outside, under cover from weather. But we are expecting -26C temps in the next few days so we moved them inside and attached a longer, 8m RG58 coax cable.
We were more worried about the spinning harddrive in the netbook not liking -26C too much at all.
