B52 Stratofortress

Wow. It’s been over a year since the last post on Science Fiction. I wonder why that is? Too busy perhaps?
This past year saw a lot of reading. I completed the Harrington Series by David Weber in toto. Picked up his safehold series and waded through that. Trying at times but still held my interest. On the recommendation of some folks, I tried out the Great North Road by Peter Hamilton. That was different… and long… and went off in directions I did not expect. Not sure whether to try another yet or not. Another new author to come to my attention is Michael McCollum. But I have having difficulty in locating any of his works. More and more book stores have closed in the area, the latest “Book Trader” in Brockville sometimes in the last few months. Hmm.. they have moved, not closed! Bonus!

There have been a lot of movies, but invariably they are disappointing, sometimes even without having read the work they were based on.

We did miss this season of Dr. Who and have yet to restart and binge watch through Orphan Black.. perhaps next winter.

Almost forgot to talk about the B52 Stratofortress bomber shown above. We were able to see and walk through the bombbay at the Trenton Airshow last year. It brought back great memories of the classic movie “Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb”.
