We added a page hit counter down the right hand column near the bottom (just above the moon phase widget) on March 1st, 2011.
The numbers seem to be increasing a lot faster than we ever suspected.
Also added in to the home landing page is a clustermap geolocation image that updates daily, showing where the hits are coming from.

Still looking for a unique visitor log file analyzer as I suspect a lot (most?) of these hits are from search engines and not real people.
