This was mostly along the coast once we hit Bathurst and up to Caraquet but then headed inland enough that we were disappointed in not seeing the water as much.
Caraquet was nice. Many houses spread along the waterfront with lots of room between each one. We drove through Evangeline and Pokemouche and through Miramichi before Lunch. We took a turn through Kouchibouguac National Park but were disappointed at the total lack of turn offs or picnicing spots along the way.
So out of the park, back onto highway 11 and a run into Shediac for lunch. Shediac, home of the Giant Lobster. Too bad it was closed that day.
It was being shellac’d 🙂 Nice touristy place once you found it.
Picked up some swag and headed off for PEI.
The Confederation Bridge was cool… and very very tall.
We could see over the edge of the guardrail no problem and took a few images. It is also very long… km after km.
We finally arrived at a tourist town built at the end of the bridge at Borden. Nice place. Had the equivalent of our LCBO. We picked up supplies and headed to Cavendish via Summerside. Lots of potatos in PEI. Not much in Summerside. We toured through the town looking for something to do or see and it ended up looking like Picton, or Napanee, or any other small town.
Up to Cavendish and into the National Park. Hmm.. can’t find the campsites. drove and drove and drove. Passed a small fox sitting on the road. Finally we turned around, went back into Cavendish and tried another campsite area sign. Presto!
The National Park is quite large and we were originally not in the camping section.
Found one on the bluffs overlooking the ocean. Very nice.
Long day. A little too much travelling.

Day two started cold… did we mention that? 3 degrees C to be exact.
