\nEver since I saw a sample of an allsky (or ultrawideangle) image being turned into a 360 deg panorama, I have known it was possible but did not know the process in getting it done.<\/p>\n

Part of the issue is to ask the right question. Once the keyword “polar” came along, the rest was easy.<\/p>\n

So to get the above Allsky1 camera image from a circular to a rectangular image, we use the following command in the ImageMagick suite of programs for linux:<\/p>\n

convert current.png +distort DePolar 0 current-pan.png<\/p>\n

That’s it!<\/p>\n

Let try it out on the Allsky2 image:<\/p>\n\n\n
