Early to mid July and already the garlic has told us it is time to start harvesting… at least the early varieties.<\/p>\n

Wednesday 2015 July 8th we harvested 5 types that were ready:
\nrodrigo
\nargentine4
\nchesnock red
\nshouldice
\nttv5<\/p>\n

Thursday 2015 July 9th we harvested 10 more types:
\njapanese sikura
\nphillipino
\nalberta hardy
\nus polish
\npersian star
\nus romanian
\nsilver white
\ntransylvanian
\nzemo
\nred rezan<\/p>\n

The last of the garlic scapes came off last night as well.
\nA couple of the new varieties did not do so well, especially Persian Star

\nThey were rinsed off with water and hunk upside down to dry in our drying racks inside a leanto.
