It was not too cold but very windy. The binocular support on the deck has been completed and the Observatory binoculars were manned by Nick, a new grad student. We missed the talk downstairs by Dr. Larry Widrow but appreciated having the time to renew bulletin board material and set up our scopes before everyone came up to the deck.
\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/starlightcascade.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161112_195025-800-180x299.jpg\" alt=\"20161112_195025-800\" width=\"180\" height=\"299\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-7352\" srcset=\"https:\/\/starlightcascade.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161112_195025-800-180x299.jpg 180w, https:\/\/starlightcascade.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161112_195025-800-90x150.jpg 90w, https:\/\/starlightcascade.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161112_195025-800.jpg 482w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 180px) 100vw, 180px\" \/><\/a>
\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/starlightcascade.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161112_195032-800-154x299.jpg\" alt=\"20161112_195032-800\" width=\"154\" height=\"299\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-7350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/starlightcascade.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161112_195032-800-154x299.jpg 154w, https:\/\/starlightcascade.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161112_195032-800-77x150.jpg 77w, https:\/\/starlightcascade.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/20161112_195032-800.jpg 412w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 154px) 100vw, 154px\" \/><\/a>
\nFor those that were looking through this telescope on the deck, it is: Celestron Nexstar 6SE with a primary mirror diameter of 150mm (6″), a focal ration of F10 and a focal length of 1500mm.
