It’s getting to be quite irritating to say the least.
Each time onsite, we reboot back into a 4.7.x and it works for awhile ok.. then we get another 4.8.x update and want to try it out to see if the problem is gone… and it isn’t. Over the weekend we were running the 4.8.7 kernel and it too had problems.. some services would stop running, and in one instance a machine lost its static ip address.
Today we are back to running 4.7.7 on some of them, and are waiting to try out 4.8.8.. or better yet, a whole system upgrade to fedora 25, due out later today.

A Little Later…
The first upgrade from Linux Fedora 24 to 25 has completed, took less than an hour and is successful!

* linux fedora 25 upgrade on
[root@ ~]# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda3 100G 6.0G 94G 6% /
/dev/sda1 477M 154M 294M 35% /boot

dnf update
dnf system-upgrade download –releasever 25
No such command: system-upgrade.
