{"id":9010,"date":"2020-05-25T17:48:53","date_gmt":"2020-05-25T21:48:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/starlightcascade.ca\/blog\/?p=9010"},"modified":"2020-05-28T12:47:21","modified_gmt":"2020-05-28T16:47:21","slug":"irrigation-rocks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/starlightcascade.ca\/blog\/2020\/05\/irrigation-rocks\/","title":{"rendered":"Irrigation rocks!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the weekend we installed out first irrigation system, the Irrigation Direct Canada &#8220;Drip Irrigation Watering Kit for Row Crops&#8221;.<br \/>\nWe installed it in vegbed4, where the fall planted garlic crop resides.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/starlightcascade.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG_20200528_060857.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/starlightcascade.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/IMG_20200528_060857.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9014\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A standard system of garden water hoses takes water to the vegbed.  From there is:<br \/>\na cutoff valve<br \/>\na mechanical timer good for up to 120 minutes<br \/>\na vaccuum breaker\/backflow valve<br \/>\na filter<br \/>\na pressure reducer<br \/>\nan adapter to connect to the main line tubing.<\/p>\n<p>From there were tried out two methods, one line down the centre of a garlic row, each row consisting of 6 cloves\/plants and running approx 20-25&#8242;.
