Observing Run (edt)RawProcessedComments
2008 June 21 A collection of images from years back in Ellis Hall using the Queens apogee camera. Note stars are pinpoint, camera is 3056x3056 pixels. I converted them from .fit to .jpg
Mon 2015 June 22 A collection of images of the telescope itself, at full resolution.
Tue 2015 June 16 Realignment of mount pointing model using video finder @135mmf2.5 and 4 stars, twice. pointing now worse. Imaged Venus, Jupiter, Saturn. 16ms 30 sec, best 25% of 504 frames, Saturn 18.3 arcseconds.
Sat 2015 June 06 seeing poor, transparency poor. pointing off a few arcminutes, focus poor. Collimation work on primary mirror, secondary mirror. Used a laser collimator and a scale to center secondary Resolution testing using narrow separation double stars, Epsilon Lyrae 1 and 2 both showed well. Sensitivity testing using Saturns moon Mimas (Mag 13.6) visually with 26mm superplossl. Some hints at system astigmatism if the angular resolution is good and low magnitude sensitivity is good, collimation might be good. Maybe a bad primary mirror polish?
Wed 2015 June 03 seeing poor, transparency poor. pointing off a few arcminutes, focus poor. Collimation work on primary mirror, secondary mirror. Video finder helped in keeping image in FOV while collimating moved the image. Imaged with BH Starlight Express M51.
Thu 2015 May 27 2nd imaging run of the season - Torus RA working, 1 usb cable for asi120 and videofinder, jupiter (60sec run, 25% of 1484 frames, 4.7ms exp, CMI=273.9 CMII=167.4 CMIII=108.0 .), venus, moon Pointing off a few arcminutes, focus poor, seeing poor, transparency poor.
Wed 2015 May 26 1st imaging run of the season - mirror recoated 2014 august, Torus RA working, 2 usb cables for ASI120MC camera and video finder, jupiter and moon (60sec run, 25% of 716 frames, 4.7ms exp, CMI=105.8 CMII=7.0 CMIII=307.3 Pointing off a few arcminutes, focus poor, seeing poor, transparency poor.
Sat 2019 Sept 21pier isolation problem, looked good around decking but joists were in contact with rock in contact with pier. removed decking, removed rocks, replaced decking.
Tue 2019 Oct 08used wooden wedges to stop primary mirror hangars from moving. Replaced usb2 5m active repeater cable for ZWO ASI 290MC camera. Replaced imaging laptop with newer one with USB3 ports and working keyboard.
Fri 2019 Oct 11Continuous issues with collimation. Bring secondary mirror back to metal and collimate on its own through the primary hole with the OTA horizonta. Bring primary mirror back to metal, place the OTA vertical and adjust the primary with the hangars fixed and not moving.
Wed 2019 Oct 16Added finder video camera lens hood to help prevent fogging. Replaced usb2 active repeater 5m cable with usb3 3m cable for zwo asi 290MC camera
