The first aurora we have seen in several years came up last night (Monday April 5th).
This is one of several 64 second images from our Canon Powershot A540 camera on a tripod, showing a lot of local light pollution from neighbours (it was worse.. many had their outside lights on but we waited them out). It was reduced in size down to 800×600 pixels.
This first image is aimed roughly north with green and purple aurora and some dark clouds just over the horizon.

This 2nd image shows a nice purple column in the northwest, close to Cassiopeia. It didn’t last for the 64 seconds of the exposure.
