Canon Powershot A540 64sec exp
The first of many images of a great aurora Thanksgiving Day. We just caught the peak of activity as it bounced around the zenith and then subsided but lasted all night.
Thanks to Mark and Di for letting us know as it would have passed us by otherwise. We posted a note out to the email astronomy chat list just before 8:30pm EDT and headed outside with our cameras and tripods.
