The Lennox and Addington Dark Sky Viewing Area (37km north of Napanee on highway 41) can also be used in the daytime!
Many often forget that a lot of astronomers are daytime SOLAR astronomers, as in this case.
Kim is observing the sun, sketching and counting sunspot numbers, as she has been doing for many years. I on the other hand am just leaning around on a rock.

This was from a road trip on Saturday August 3rd on our way up to the North Frontenac Dark Sky Preserve (just shy of Plevna on Road 506 east of highway 41) Grand Opening. We stopped for 10 minutes to do the observing, documenting and imaging. We still have not had a chance to stop by at night. It is approx 45 minutes away from home on country back roads filled with creatures that leap out onto the road in front of your vehicle. Namely: Deer, rabbits, raccoons, skunks and more!
