This morning, Monday 2014 August 18th, there was a conjunction of the planets Venus and Jupiter.
As they rose over our eastern horizon, they were less than 1/4 of a degree apart (Venus the brighter and to the lower left of Jupiter).
At the time of this image 05:08 EDT, they were approx 3.5 degrees above the horizon.
Over the next few days they will separate quite quickly, relatively speaking.
