List of garlic planted in 2015
We’ve been asked by several people to post the master list of all of the various garlic types we plant.
Below is the list of what went into the ground on Sunday 2015 October 11th.
We used a 6 hole dibbler, with hole depth of 6″ and hole spacing of 6″ with each row 8″ apart.
The beds will be covered in straw the first chance we get. Come winter, cold and freezing, this will help prevent the freeze/thaw cycle on those “hot” winter days that may thaw the ground enough down to the level of the garlic. And that is not a good thing.. not in the middle of winter.
One of the points of all of this work is to maintain and sustain the large genetic variety of garlic (among other veg) and also to find mild types for me, seeing as how most of the stronger types cause severe reactions 🙂
