Pretty poor out last night for planetary… almost full moon, very close to Jupiter. Seeing poor, transparency poor.
This image was the best, the last of the evening. 180 second run, 22ms exposure, about 8200 frames in all, used the best 25% of them with Autostakkert! v3
Still not sure of which way is up or down.
cassegrain reflecting mirror flips up for down
90 deg adapter flips it left for right
camera position relative to horizon… I haven’t been moving/rotating it but I probably should.
Jupiter was still east of south so the bands should be lower left to upper right, not upper left to lower right.
Regixstax wavelets did not really help a lot in this instance.
On the realtime display it was even worse… hard to make out any belts at all.
I had even blown up and horribly overexposed the moon Io, and used it to focus. Not sharp at all but better than before I did this.
With the moon so bad, I packed it in early. Moonrise tonight is 19:05 at is 99% waxing gibbous. Skies are perfectly clear though!
Perhaps Monday? Nope.. full moon
Tuesday? Waning gibbous rises at 19:47
