Saturday April 4th was supposed to be a three hour public solar observing session down at City Hall in Kingston… we got clouded out.
Later that night we held a stellar public observing session down at the University Observatory. It was cold, dark, cloudy, rainy and windy. We did get 8 guests though, showing them through the facility.
The cloud date for the solar session was Sunday and it was actually clear.
We set up and went through a crowd of 63 people in the three hours of relatively cool and windy weather.
There was one Coronado Solarmax 70 scope from the Royal Military College and we took the opportunity to take some images through it of a solar filament (see todays spaceweather.com page for a much better image of it than what we took with our little canon camera.
