Jupiter 2015 March 28
Both Kim & I were out saturday night during Earth Hour, doing imaging runs of the moon and Jupiter.
A brief survey of the local neighbourhood showed little to no participation in this conservation statement.
Tonight was the first use of the televue x2.5 barlow as well on the Meade 10cm SC.
the quality of Televue shows over the Celestron. Even at x2.5 I believe the results were better than the x2.
Still though, focus is soft, constrast is soft and it is now time to move up to larger primary mirrors.
Seeing was poor, transparency was average. we were out from 20:00-21:00 EDT. still twilight but good for the moon and jupiter.
Cold though.. -10C with a wind. brrr.
Here is the first image of the run, Jupiter at F10, FL=1000mm, 5msec exposures for 60 seconds , 5359 frames in total
And here is the last of the images with the televue x2.5 barlow, F25 FL=2500mm, 35 msec exposures for 60 seconds, 1712 frames in total
Both were processed for the best 75% of the frames with autostakkert v2.5.1.7
