The allsky2 camera system has been down since mid April 2017. We thought it was the camera. After receiving a replacement and having it fail as well, attention turned to the power supply. And that turned out to be the issue… an intermittent failure in the -12vdc and +12vdc supply unit.
Last night was the first operational night in almost two months. It is good to be back operational again!
At the moment it is limping with just a single +12vdc power source running the camera, with no power to the heater or the circulation fan. So it might get dewy on the inside of the dome… we’ll see.
