Prince Edward County wines have beckoned us back for our annual (2010) winery tour and sampling.
This year we headed out on a saturday afternoon and stopped off at

  • 33 vines (9261 Hwy #33)
  • Bergeron Estate Winery (9656 Hwy#33)

Both were busy as it was also a special tourism event in the county, “Taste! A celebration of regional cuisine”.
It had the affect of making almost all of our stops very very busy.
After taking the Glenora Ferry we drove through Picton, Bloomfield and Wellington to get to our next series of stops.

  • Keint-he Winery & Vinyards (new for 2010) (49 Hubbs Creek Road – Wellington) –
  • By Chadsey Cairns (17432 Loyalist Parkway – Hillier)
  • Sandbanks Estate (17598 Loyalist Parkway – Hillier) Sandbanks had built a new shop/building out front and as it was also harvest day, the place was packed with dozens of people! x12 dunes vidal 2009 @$13 and
    x2 sandbanks riesling 2008 @$15

  • Hillier Creek Estates (46 Stapleton Road – Hillier) – (new for 2010)

We saw a nice grape harvester sitting in the parking lot.
    Very much combine like.
The best chardonnay we came across on the trip. Barrel aged chardonnay 2008 $25

  • Redtail Vineyard (422 Partridge Hollow Road – Consecon)
The best pinot noir that we came across on the trip. Pinot Noir 2008 (almost the last bottles)

Nothing but good things to say about most, and won’t say too much about the others 🙂
