This tomato hornworm made an appearance in our swimming pool yesterday. Come to think of it, we had an early worm appear last year as well.
From the evidence (hexagonal poop) it had been hanging out in a tree overhanging the pool for a couple of days before it fell in.
The tomato plants are late this year, with some maybe 1 foot high, and a very few maybe 2′ high. Normally we do not look for the worms for another 2-3 weeks, but with this warning, we are now out every day looking for them along with the twice daily potato bug hunt.
