We’ve started to harvest our garlic crop two weeks ago with the earlier varieties. This weekend we pulled up most of the rest, leaving maybe 6 types in the ground as they do not look ready yet.
Our 2014 harvest includes:
total 49 types, 63 rows, 6 cloves to a row, approx 378 plants
garlic planted on 2013 october 19
We built and used a dibbler with 6 holes in a row spaced 6″ apart to plant a row,
each row was 8″ apart from next row.
This 8″ distance is not enough to allow for selective harvesting in the summer so we will increase that to 10″ this fall planting.
Some types we planted more than 1 row
1st row – northern side going west to east
